This morning Jo and I caught the bus from Whittington into the City of Lichfield.

Museum grounds, which was in heavy usage by wedding parties today, from the registry office alongside the gardens. We saw at least 3 separate groups during our short visit.
We had lunch at the Kings Head, birthplace of the South Staffordshire Regiment.
Jo had the roast chicken, I had the roast beef, both at £5.95 each, accompanied with a pint of Marston’s Pedigree.

Sunrise this morning at 6:00am
We are now moored just below Deptmore lock, set off at 5:45am from Acton Trussell, got here at 6:45am, gearbox control cable broke, I then walked back 2.5 miles to Midland Chandlers, got there at 8:00am, waited till 9:00am (which was planned to give me time to recover) for them to open, got 2 new cables, walked back in an hour. Knackered springs to mind, but still had to fit new cable. All done, and now the rain has started, so guess we are stopping here for today. Whilst I was away enjoying my stroll Jo was busy, cleaning brass, topping up the gearbox oil, and doing a wash.
