Today the sun shone brightly in blue skies, and we were privileged to be at Crickheath wharf for the celebrations for the opening of the latest section of the Montgomery canal. 😁
Setting up the site this morning at Crickheath wharf |
"Saturn" arrived, being towed by "Beatie" |
"Saturn" safely moored up |
"Saturn's" 'orse! |
We were entertained by the singing group "The Shropshire Boatmen" and very good they were too |
The cutting of the ribbon across the canal by the VIPs onboard steamboat "Ictus" |
The VIP's safely ashore |
There were a lot of speeches followed by the unveiling the plaque to commemorate the opening of this section of the canal |
"The Shropshire Boatmen" still singing for us |
"Saturn" sets off behind "Beatie" |
Whilst sitting by "Hadar" enjoying the afternoon sunshine, I managed to photograph this dragonfly with my compact digital camera |
And then I got this one! |
