Black Country Living Museum Sunday

The morning started off chilly but when the sun broke through it warmed up.

We spent most of the day in and around the dock area today.

The museum was busy, BBC Radio WM were announcing that people could get in for free today if they bought a lottery ticket (so not quite free really) so the museum was very busy.

Chatting to a recent addition to the docks crew, I taught her all I know, in 5 minutes!

Who is that out on the main line?

Now you can see who it is

Black Country Living Museum

A good day spent in the Black Country Living Museum today.

All quiet early in the morning

The canal basin

Still no crowds

Throughout the day we kept bumping into this young lady with her baby in a pram, and it didn't cry once!

The park being higher gives a good view over some of the new streets

Kettles boiling, teas up!

We share a portion of fish & chips & scraps from Hobbs & Sons, as a single portion is too much for either of us.

Nelson's Wharf to Black Country Living Museum

A short run today into the Black Country Living Museum, Dudley where we will stay for the weekend and get to meet up with some more of our friends here that we didn't see today. They have been very busy building here since 2020, when Covid kicked off, lots of new building work completed, and still under construction. See captions for details.

One advantage of getting here early in the season and on a weekday is there are few visitors around to spoil photos, but it is school children day today

The new 'Elephant & Castle' pub from Wolverhampton

It looks really good

Inside looks good too

We just had to have a pint each of Banks's Mild

Some of the new 1940's/50's60's street still to be finished

The cream coloured cottages on the right are the iron cottages that have been moved from further up the site, the new building on the left still being worked on is the new industrial section

Windmill End to Neptune's Wharf, Tipton

A chilly start to the day again, but an uneventful journey. Now moored at Neptune's wharf alongside the Black Country Family Practice, Tipton. We popped into Tipton before lunch, the Co-op is now a Poundland.
