10.21 miles, 2 locks, 4hrs 10mins.
Another hot day.
Approaching the A1 bridge.
Hi-speed train just about to cross the railway bridge on it’s way north from London.
And one heading south towards London.
Approaching Nether lock.
Leaving Nether lock, and the narrow entrance/exit on a bend above the lock.
Newark town lock.
Dry dock above Town lock, which can take quite bog boats.
Having moored up in front of the Bromley Arms at Fiskerton, and sought their permission to moor on their pontoon, we took a short walk into the village, the nearest of these cottages was the old Post Office.
The village shop and present Post Office, it was nice and cool inside, great place to work during this heat wave.
The Bromley Arms as seen from the road, we have a lovely evening meal here, washed down with a cool pint of Old Speckled Hen!
Hadar moored in front of the Bromley Arms.
Keith.
