Spits and spots of rain as we set off this morning, but it didn’t last very long, busy times at the Big Lock, even early on a Sunday morning.
New apartments below Big Lock, which were being built last time we passed this way.
Only one boat moored at Bramble Cutting.
After lunch we took a walk through Anderton Nature Park to the River Weaver, then the Anderton Boat Lift, and back along the towpath. Soon after we set off we came across this blackbird sunbathing at the edge of the footpath.
Haydn’s Pool, as viewed from the 2 hides on opposite sides of the pool.
Carden’s Ferry bridge over Witton Brook, which gives foot access to Northwich.
The Anderton Boat Lift trip boat on the River Weaver.
First view of the Lift.
The Borders Cheese Boat moored above the Anderton Boat Lift.
