Grindley Brook to Whitchurch.

Whitchurch Arm

A message left for boaters at the water point mooring at Grindley Brook.

SAM_0479

With only a short journey of 1 mile this morning we were in no rush to set off. We soon arrived at the junction with the Whitchurch arm, where, due to the angle of approach, having gone through the swingbridge, I had to carry on a bit further to the winding hole, winded, and returned to go into the  arm. This was the return to the junction having winded.

We moored up and walked into Whitchurch. From the end of the arm there is a path which initially follows the course of the lost part of the arm, which then continues through a small country walk.

We found this rather nice lamp in an antiques shop.

We have been looking for a nice shade for our boatmans cabin lamp, so we swapped the 2 shades over as follows:-

The new lamp now sits on top of the cupboard behind Jo’s chair in the saloon.
