Another early start this morning to get through the narrows without too many opposing boats.
Unfortunately we met a hire boat coming out of this bridge hole, and it took a bit of persuading I needed the deeper water around the outside of the bend.
The first glimpse of the aqueduct.
Having moored up at 9:00am we were picked up by a friend, Mile Byrne, in his car and he took us on our tour of the local area, away from the canal. First we went to Pistyll Rhaeadr waterfall.
Then we went to Lake Vyrnwy, Llyn Efyrnwy.
Then we treated Mike to lunch at the Plas Yn Dre Restaurant in Bala, all three of us opted for the carvery, and very good it was too.
Then on our return journey we saw the steam train again, so we stopped at Glyndyfrdwy railway station to catch it passing through the station.
Exchanging the single line working tokens.
Keith.
