Chirk

A dry sunny start to the day and we set off for the short trip to Chirk.

Approaching Whitehouse tunnel.

We like the way that the tunnel information board states that the tunnel is two-way working. I don’t think so somehow"!

The moorings on the north side of the tunnel have just been refurbished, in fact they were still working on them when we came up last week.

But as can be seen they need dredging!

Chirk

After lunch we walked up into Chirk.

In the churchyard was this mausoleum, the first time we have come across one.

This statue was inside the mausoleum.

The church and its memorials are dominated by 2 families, the Trevors and the Myddletons.

Those moorings at Chirk are a huge improvment. They were a complete quagmire when we were there a couple of years ago.

They sure are an improvement.
