A Very Cold Death

Our fridge/freezer died today. We only filled it up yesterday. We have had to restart our small freezer and transferred all the frozen stuff across. Will just have to see what happens to the contents of the fridge.

Keith.

You can keep the refrigerator stuff cold in a cooler with ice for several days. We have also kept things cold in our bow locker! Les says if it is a Shoreline brand you can bypass the thermostat to check whether that is the problem.

We've been molly-codling our old fridge onboard Steadfast for the past three years. To replace it, we'll have to remove the new front windows of the salon. Things are getting rather beyond the pale and we have decided to definitely bite the bullet and go for new galley kit next season! Always something...

Hello Rosemary, we all experience these sort of problems, it is just living on a boat and constantly moving makes it difficult to get such things sorted out, especially as we are heading to dry dock at the end of this month near London, and once that is done we have to make a dash north almost to Manchester to get our electrics sorted out. Fridge/Freezer will have to wait until we have sorted all that out.

Also Rosemary for us every appliance in our boat can be got out without too much hassle, apart from the engine, the boat was built around the engine!
