Ellesmere, The Mere, The Castle Mound and St Marys Church

This morning Jo made a packed lunch and we set off to the Mere again. We discovered that you cannot walk all the way round the Mere as some of it is private land, but we walked to both limits. We had lunch near the Boathouse then headed up the hill to the castle mound where the bowling green is on top. Then we visited St Marys church.

This evening we walked back into the town for a lovely Indian meal at the Asian Spices restaurant. 😁

Ice Cream anyone?

This was as far as we could get round the Mere, on this side, it is private land beyond

Lots of benches to sit on around the Mere to take in the view and rest 70 year old legs (mine not Jo's)

This is the reed bed the other side of the Mere and again as far as we could get
