Llangollen Day 2, Walk to Horseshoe Falls

This morning Jo and I set off to walk to Horseshoe Falls and Llantysilio Parish Church. During our return walk we stopped at the Chainbridge Hotel for a cup of tea whilst waiting for the DMU to arrive at Berwyn station. We walked up to Berwyn station and sat on a bench on the platform and had our packed lunch. We continued our return walk to find the motor museum was closed 😢.

We had a cup of coffee at Llangollen station whilst I made enquiries about booking a trip on the steam train on Saturday (all booked online). A round trip of just over 6 miles 🚶🚶‍♀️.

Be warned there are a lot of photos. ⚠️

The water meter at the head of the canal feeder, the meter regulates the amount of water taken from the River Dee and onto the feeder

The DMU entering Berwyn station as seen from Chainbridge Hotel, I should have used my camera rather than trying to take a video with my phone, and messed it up!

The path from the chainbridge up to Berwyn station passes under the railway line at the bridge, unfortunately the sun was in the wrong place

This photo wasn't any better

Berwyn station, I know it is, it says so on the sign

On our return journey we wondered if we could get down to the rocks here

We found these steep steps down, the 2nd set were even steeper and we had to go down them backwards

But it was worth it for

The falls upstream

And downstream

The Motor Museum was closed today

But we did see the horse-drawn trip boat
