Shugborough Hall, Great Haywood to The Anchor Inn, Cross Green

Another wet day today, showers 🌧, rather than the drizzle of yesterday, oh, and thunder and lightning ⚡️. Now moored near the Anchor Inn, Cross Green, and popped in for a lovely meal.
18 miles 13 locks in 8hrs 45mins. what3words ///zone.sprint.proof 😊

Early morning visitors as we were preparing to set off

1st lock of the day, Great Haywood

Great Haywood junction, turning on to the Staffs & Worcs canal

Aqueduct over the river Trent, I know it is, it says so on the plaque

Tixall wide

Tixall lock

Aqueduct over the river Sow, I know it is, it says so on the plaque

The works at the top lock of the project to link the canal to the river Sow, and on in to Stafford

This was the cloud which gave us the biggest shower, and the thunder and lightning

Approaching the last lock at Gailey

Hatherton junction, and the start of what will be the Hatherton canal joining onto the Wyrley and Essington canal.

Now moored on a very muddy towpath near the Anchor Inn at Cross Green
