Bridge No.13 to Hinckley.

Map picture

Hinckley

A short run this morning, 1¼miles which took all of 30mins. We were hoping there would be room to moor at Nutt’s Bridge, which there was, so we pulled in and moored up. As we were doing this I noticed what looked like nb Gilbert, the chandlery boat, and it was as Karen came walking down the towpath to see us, and we had a quick catch up as we haven’t seen each other for a couple of years.

We then walked up into Hinckley to do some shopping. This is the first time we have been to Hinckley. Although Hinckley obviously suffered due to the recession, and some shops had closed down, it wasn’t as bad as it could be. We found a nice little café for a coffee and some toast, I felt a little peckish.

Jo got some bread, vegetables, eggs, and a gammon joint which we will have for Christmas. The street market was in full swing.

Keith.
