This morning I finished painting the 2 water cans by touching up with red, white and blue in places that needed it.
All there is left to do now is to sand paper the wooden handles to remove splodges of paint and revarnish them, but I will leave the cans for now to allow the paint to fully harden.
Looking forward to travelling next year with them on the cabin roof 😊

This afternoon I attempted the shadowing of the names on the 2 water can, soon after starting I got the shakes hence the poor quality, but tomorrow I will go back over the red and white to improve them. 🙁

Signwriting the water cans. Being lefthanded I have to start on the right 😊
Initial easier stage of the signwriting finished. 😊

Templates Sellotaped in place. 😊

This afternoon I printed out 6 templates for the 2 new water cans,
these are the 2 templates not in the bin! 🤨

I had another busy morning this morning, screwing the new decking down, putting everything back on the pontoon, and when Jo got home from the stables we moved all the coal back onto the pontoon. 😊
Keith
Busy day today fitting the new decking to our mooring, many thanks to Ian, Maria and Nigel for helping us. 😁

This morning Jo and did the final clear up on our pontoon ready to lay our new decking on Tuesday. 😁

This morning I painted the 2 white stripes, then the seam, on 1 of the 2 water cans 😊.
Don't look too closely, not as good as I have done in the past 😞
1st stripe

This afternoon I painted the inside of the 2 water cans, not the easiest part of the paint job. 😊
Keith
3rd coat of red applied to the 2 water cans this afternoon, not that you can notice.
I may have to do a 4th coat, will see what it is like when it has dried 😊

Having bolted on both handles, and primed and undercoated them yesterday, this morning I was back on track and gave both water cans a 2nd coat of blue. 😊
Keith
Having spent nearly a month in pain in my back, I bolted on the handle that fell off the water can, I also did the same to the other one just in case it decides to come off.
Clamping the handle that fell off in place before drilling.

My new name, "Not too happy of Warwick" 😭
Caught the handle of one of the water cans with my foot and this is the result, they definitely don't make them like they used to 😡
Brass bolts and nuts ordered I just have to wait for them to be delivered. 😩
Keith
Saturday I started to paint the 2 new water cans by primering the insides, yesterday I primered the bases and today I finished primering them. They are almost ready for undercoating. 😊
These are the 2 original cans which were damaged in a tunnel this year that the new ones will replace.
Insides primered Saturday

Latish start this morning again, I am still wasn't feeling very well, I have a very sore throat, but we set off anyway. Sunny, warm. We shared all the locks with Jane and Paul on Narrowboat Satinwood.
