Great run up the remainder of the Erewash canal.

Beeston Lock to Pastures Lock, Erewash Canal, 9.5 miles 6 locks

We set off from the Beeston cut this morning and back onto the River Trent, looking back at Beeston lock.

No rain this morning, the 1st rowers we have seen on the River.

Newark to Holme Lock, 21.7 miles 5 locks.

The day started well. Pasties cooking for lunch on the move.

Holme lock, the deepest lock on the River at 12ft drop. It was whilst in this lock that the heavens opened!

Hazy start to the morning, but soon cleared.
Onto the River Trent.

A dull but warmer run today.

Fradley Visitor Moorings to Ragley Boat Stop, Barrow-on-Trent, 17.3 miles, 11 locks, 7hrs 35mins.

Cold, windy and sunny start this morning, but it warmed up as the day progressed.

Approaching Stenson lock, unfortunately the boat 2 in front of us had broken one of the 2 bottom paddles, according to the 2 vollies, so it took ages to empty the lock!


Now moored at the Rageley Boat Stop.


We have just has a pint each of Marston's Pedigree and dinner at £4.99 each here!!

Taft Wharf to Fradley Visitor Moorings below Junction Lock, Fradley, 9.5 miles 4 locks

Very chilly start this morning, even the mooring lines had frost on them!
I can smell bacon cooking!!
