Kegworth to Nottingham.

A warm start to the day which gradually got hotter.

Leaving Kegworth lock with a boat we shared the last 2 locks on the Soar with.

Kegworth shallow lock which is a flood lock.

The air was so still the steam rising from the cooling towers of Ratcliffe Power Station rose vertically, not often you see that.

The old lock chamber alongside Ratcliffe lock.

Redhill flood lock.

The end of the River Soar where it joins the River Trent.

Leaving Cranfleet lock.

The very much wider River Trent having had both the River Soar and the River Derwent join it, it becomes very wide and deep, Hadar trotting along nicely in the deep waters.

Approaching Beeston lock.

Leaving Beeston lock and now on the Beeston Cut.

Back to narrower waters.

The junction of the Beeston Cut and the Nottingham Canal, which used to head northwards to the Erewash Canal from this point, but no longer, however it does continue through Nottingham until the River Trent is re-joined.

Nottingham Castle Marina, just pass which is Sainsbury's and where we are now moored.
