At Stoke Bruerne.

Hi Friends.

We are now safely moored at Stoke Bruerne ready for the "Village at War" weekend this coming weekend. We have been looking forward to this for some time, and it always nice to know we have arrived in plenty of time and not been held up on the way, phew, what a relief.
We only cruised for 2 hours and did 5.3 miles, but at least we stayed dry. The forecast was for heavy rain. The wettest part of the cruise was in Blisworth Tunnel.

Village at War? Is that like a re-enactment thing, with people in period costumes, sleeping in tents, cooking over open fires and then staging mock battles? We have them here at the old forts on both sides of the Niagara River.

ps... Why don't you come by my site and answer my questions? I have to go backwards thru your blogs to find the answers. :)

Yes very much a re-enactment, it was really great to see so many people dressed up in 1940's style, and the attention to detail was excellent. Jo and I always dress up when we visit Boat Rallies with Hadar in the traditional boat people costume. Then again I always wear mine every day, I always have since I first started boating in 1968, I am just very comfortable in it. It is much more fun for you to return to our site for your answers, lol, because we are on the move most of the time we do not get much time on the internet, so have to use it very sparingly.
