With the rain falling as we awoke, whilst Jo took Paddy for his morning walk, and whilst we had breakfast, we were pleased to see it had stopped when we emerged to set off for Castlefields and Manchester. First things first, and I had to wind Hadar to head back to Manchester.
The lighthouse.
Passing Misty Lady, our old boat, at her new moorings at Worsley Cruising Club moorings, which are not at Worsley!
Laying a smoke screen across the Ship Canal!
Approaching Waters Meeting junction, new waters for Hadar, Jo and even myself.
Old Trafford, home of Manchester United Football Club.
Access to ship canal via Pomona lock.
The disused Hulme lock also onto the ship canal.
Approaching Castlefields.
The start of the Rochdale “9” locks.
The many basins which, make up Castlefields.
The old and the new.
After lunch we took a quick walk into the city to get our bearings, which we will explore more over the next couple of days.
Keith.
